Life Rings are textile based art pieces, developed by Georgia as a way to tell stories. " All my life I have had a strong connection to textiles. Life Rings started as a way to use meaning rich, textiles to create art." Georgia wanted the design to be simple yet conceptually strong. Her ongoing attraction to natural patterning led her to tree ring images. " It didn't take me long to realize this was the perfect pairing! Concentric circles that unfold the life story of the tree, definitely fit the bill for simplicity and concept. "
Georgia has now developed Life Rings' workshops to give others a chance to tell stories through textiles. " Some students come to the workshop with stories directed by the textiles. Some start with a story and come with textiles they found to tell it. Either way is fine, the goal is to "speak" your stories using the language of art through the words of textiles."
